We've reached 22% of our target funding goal! + A Little Bit of Perspective from a Donor

Wow! I'm so surprised by your continued generosity. Huge donations came through over night from all over the globe! All the way from chilly Gunma, Japan, Fitzgerard Restituyo went BIG and earned a #BangonPH shirt! Also, huge thanks to Brendan Rakphongphairoj, Randi Akasaki and Chris Bulock! You guys got us to 22% of our fundraising goal. Now let's keep this momentum going!

Also, with his generous donation, Chris Bulock offered me a bit of humbling perspective regarding the aftermath of strong winds which caused damage to his home in Illinois earlier this year. I'd like to share it with you here. He writes:
  
"When I dealt with storm damage to my house this summer, I was lucky to have really good insurance, infrastructure, and adequate savings to draw on. Even so, it was still a difficult experience. I can only imagine what the survivors of the typhoon have been going through."

Indeed, many of the survivors have no safety net to fall back on, which make your donations that much more important. In the coastal towns and villages that were hardest hit, people are re-building from nothing, and in the struggle to re-establish their lives, any little bit can help.
