Super Typhoon Yolanda recently swept over the central Philippines leaving a terrifying amount of destruction in its wake. Some of the worst hit areas are still without aid due to political corruption and logistical obstacles such as transportation and organization.
Food, water and medicine are dangerously scarce as survivors who have lost everything wait in vain for help that has not come. Local non-governmental organizations and grass-roots volunteer groups have sprung up to fill this need.
Cebu Yolanda Relief is one such group that is taking efforts into their own hands to help, soliciting donations themselves, packing food, medicine and supplies themselves, and most importantly, distributing these goods themselves.
They have organized two successful relief missions in Northern Cebu to outlying towns that have been decimated by the storm. They are gearing up for another relief trip in January and need your help to make it happen! Absolutely 100% of all donations go to the purchase of food, water, medicine and clothing and other basic necessities, and the operation is run completely by volunteers.
Please check out the website for photos and videos of their operation!
